In February 2008, cruise passenger traffic in Malta comprised 2,464 persons, a decrease of 18.9 per cent over the same month in 2007, according to National Statistics Office figures released yesterday.

Total cruise passenger traffic amounted to 2,464, a decrease of 576 passengers over the same month in 2007. There were no embarkations from and landings in Malta in this month.
January-February 2008
Total cruise passenger traffic amounted to 4,657, an increase of 4.9 per cent when compared to the same period of 2007. Total traffic equalled the number of transits since there were no embarkations from and landings in Malta during the reference period.
Same-day visitors from EU countries accounted for 93.0 per cent of total traffic. There was one cruise liner call in February, bringing the total of the first two months of 2008 to two.
