Joseph Montebello has been appointed executive secretary of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD).

Mr Montebello holds an MBA from Leicester University, and joins the MCESD following a long and successful career in the manufacturing sector. For most of his career he occupied positions at senior management level with areas of responsibilities for human resources and productions.

Mr Montebello, who was also a research fellow, and a part-time lecturer at the University of Malta, has served on the council of the Federation of Industry, and in various other organisations. He will be assuming his new responsibilities in the third week of June.
