The Church is publishing a consultation document about the media, to give the opportunity to everyone to express their view and make suggestions before a definitive document is published.

The consultation is being held in line with the diocesan synod document of 1999-2003 which found that one of the various main challenges in society were the changes in the media and pluralism in broadcasting which in the early nineties were a determining catalyst in the propagation of a pluralistic and materialistic mentality.

A dialogue has developed within the Church in recent months about how best to put into practice the proposals suggested by the synod. The dialogue is being conducted with the help of the consultation document that was drawn up purposely and called “The Digital Face of the Lord”.

The consultation document can be found on the archdiocese website www.maltadiocese.org and comments may be made by email to [email protected]. Comments and suggestions may be made by the end of this month.
