Five Arrested after drugs seized

Five persons are being held by anti-drugs police after various drug finds were mind in different operations in Bugibba and Paceville, the police Community and Media Relations Unit said.

Two cannabis plants were found growing in a Bugibba apartment on Thursday when a search was made in the presence of the 30-year old man who occupies the apartment.

Then on Saturday evening and the early hours of Sunday four persons were held in Paceville who were found in possession of cannabis resin. Those held are aged between 17 and 35 and are from Birkirkara, Sta Lucija, Marsascala and Qawra.

One of them, a Sudanese who lives in Qawra, was found with various quantities of cannabis resin which, the police said, were ready for sale. Cash was also found on the man, and a search at his place of living yielded more cannabis resin.
