WasteServ Malta Ltd appealed to local councils to pinpoint additional sites where containers for bring-in waste could be installed. It said it wanted to add to the over 200 sites which already exist.

Each site has a container for paper, another for glass, another for metal and one for plastic. In many of them, there is an additional container for plastic, of which there are in all over 300 of them.

In Mellieha, where the population grows to 20,000 in summer, compared to the normal 8,000, another four bring-in sites have been added.
