Pilot Project for St Paul’s Bay

Malta Independent Monday, 27 February 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Labour Party leader Joseph Muscat has launched the second in a series of pilot projects for housing estates, aiming to improve their environments. The latest affects the Erba’ Mwieżeb housing estate of St Paul’s Bay where, Dr Muscat said, the emphasis is on security for residents.

The work would cost about €400,000, in a partnership between the local council, the government and the private sector. A Labour government would support the local council, no matter the kind of majority it had.

Perit Daniel Micallef said the three aims behind the project are that the positive qualities of the area be retained and improved, that the positive points for residents would also be improved, and areas which are today neglected would be exploited for the benefit of residents. Residents would in the coming days be receiving a leaflet with all the information.
