This afternoon President George Abela left Malta after accepting invitations by the President of the Federal Republic of Austria Heinz Fisher and the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovic to pay a State Visit to their respective countries.

During these visits President Abela will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs George Vella, an Institutional delegation and a Trade delegation.

In the meantime Mrs Dolores Cristina is acting President.

President George Abela and the delegations will return back to Malta next Friday 24th January 2014.
