PBS achieves National Gender Equality Mark award

Malta Independent Thursday, 17 April 2014, 15:36 Last update: about 11 years ago

PBS is the first local Broadcasting Station to achieve certification of this prestigious milestone awarded by the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) confirming PBS’s social corporate responsibilities and high governance standards within its professional Human Resources Strategy.

The award recognizes the importance PBS gives to its Human Resource holistically including the family friendly environment and the commitment to employee fairness and employee protection mainly through gender equality and sexual harassment policies.

The historical landmark in Malta’s broadcasting was promoted by the Chairman Tonio Portughese and implemented through Chief Executive Officer Anton Attard, Edmund Tabone Manager Corporate Services and Doreen Cortis Administration Coordinator, the latter two being PBS’s approved representatives and the link with NCPE whose professional guidance and assessment merit full praise.

Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia, who is also responsible for Public Broadcasting, expressed great satisfaction towards this achievement by PBS. He stressed the point that other entities and departments under his Ministry should strive to achieve the same status as PBS successfully did.
