President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca visited the YOURS facility at Mtahleb on the eve of World Book Day and donated over 250 books to the 20 young prisoners. She said that when she visited YOURS at Paola a year ago, she was disappointed at the lack of rehabilitation programmes for young people.

Ms Coleiro Preca described reading as a means of recognition of the tolerance and respect there should be among us as a united people. Through the tolerance, she explained there would be respect towards diversity, which leads to peace in society.

Apart from the books, books publishers Midsea Books, Miller, Sierra and Merlin Library donated a Prof. Guze Aquilina dictionary to each prisoner.
