Residents complain about road closure for sports day

Malta Independent Wednesday, 23 April 2014, 15:08 Last update: about 11 years ago

Mosta residents have complained to The Malta Independent that on the 16th of May Grognet Street will be closed for three hours to hold the primary school’s (located on the same street) sports day. The residents have received a note from the local council asking residents to keep the street free from parking, and any access to garages will not be possible.

The residents complained that this is not the first of such cases, and they are continually subjected to hassle because the street is closed when the school opens in the morning, and closes in the afternoon, not only during the academic year, but also during summer when Skolasajf is held.  The residents also said that they have to put up with the noise and litter left on the streets.

The Malta Independent contacted Mosta Local Council regarding the situation; however members did not wish to comment, saying that this is only for three-hours, implying it is not an issue.
