A 26-year-old man, from Lentini, Sicily, has been sentenced to eight months in prison, and fined €1,000, after he pleaded guilty to trafficking cannabis.
Damian Calisti, also admitted to being in possession of 20grams of cannabis and breaching bail conditions.
Charges against Mr Calisti were pressed after police officers noticed several people leaving his apartment in St Julian’s. Interrogations and investigations concluded that Mr Calisti was indeed selling cannabis. Magistrate Francescro Depasquele heard that during interrogation, the accused cooperated with the police.
Inspector Nicolai Sant prosecuted; Dr Gianluca Caruana Curran represented the accused.
