Open letter airs complaints about Marsa parish

Malta Independent Saturday, 13 September 2014, 15:20 Last update: about 11 years ago

A Facebook petition and an open letter sent to Archbishop Cremona and Bishop Scicluna as well as the Capuchin provincial speaks about what is going on in the Marsa parish of the Trinity.

The letter, signed by Horace Grima, attacks new parish priest Leonard Falzon for removing all that he found coming from previous parish priests and for introducing 'modern' ideas.

Mainly the letter focuses on the events leading to the feast and accuses the parish priest of lack of enthusiasm which led to a downscaled feast, cutting down on processions and removing popular devotions like the Kwaranturi and the Lenten Exercises.

The parish priest is also accused of hurrying up the Easter Vigil so that he could go and join a neo-Cathecumenal celebration in another parish.
