Serbian Mikelic Sardan, 25, who resides in Kappara, was today jailed for four months after being found guilty of stealing a number of items from Sliema fashion outlets OVS, Berskha and Next.

He was also found guilty of failing to obey police orders, including attempting to escape when he spotted the police officers. He was also found guilty of damaging a vehicle which belongs to Luigi Susino.

Police said that the accused jumped on a parked vehicle in a bid to flee from police, damaging it.

It was members of the Rapid Intervention Unit within the Police Force who apprehended the accused.
