The Nationalist Party today sent a letter of complaint to the head of news of Public Broadcasting Services for the way the 8pm news of Thursday was 'manipulated' to give an advantage to the government over the opposition.

It is shameful, the PN said, that the national station was using such tactics which were meant to neutralise an opposition press conference on the cost of living.

PBS had a live interview with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat on the cost of living debate - an increase of 58c per week is to be handed out, the lowest in many years - before the PN press conference on the matter was reported.

It also complained that while the Prime Minister was given the opportunity to explain the government's position on camera, no Opposition member was given such a chance.
