Drunk Englishman charged with attacking police officers and resisting arrest

A British man has been accused of attacking police and resisting arrest while drunk on Wednesday night.

Liam Oliver Smith (27), the accused, works with a life insurance firm here in Malta. Mr Smith pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is also accused of being drunk and disorderly.

Mr Smith was crying throughout the arraignment and was granted bail against a deposit of €500 and a €2,000 personal guarantee.

Police Inspector Elton Taliana prosecuted, Lawyers Michael and Lucio Sciriha appeared for the Englishman.
