A number of projects, reaching the amount of €6 million, are under way in 19 localities. All projects are being funded by the European Agricultural and Rural Fund and they all have to be finalised by the end of this year.

The aim of these projects is to enhance Malta and Gozo’s tourism product, Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds Ian Borg said during the inauguration of a leisure park at St Thomas Bay, Marsascala.

Mr Borg said that the Ġnien San Tumas was refurbished and transformed into a leisure park.

A number of information boards have been put up while information leaflets aiming to educate visitors on the area are to be distributed.

Present during the inauguration was the mayor of the locality Mario Calleja.
