A special summit on migration is to be held later this year in Malta, bringing together the European Union, the African Union and key countries involved in the migrant crisis, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has said in a Twitter post.

In another post just before the close of the summit of EU leaders being held in Brussels today, Dr Muscat said that EU leaders have agreed to "disrupt trafficking networks, undertake to identify, capture and destroy vessels being used by traffickers".
