Updated: 10-year-old Libyan boy dies after being hit by car in Pembroke

A 10-year-old Libyan boy tragically lost his life this afternoon after he was hit by a car while crossing Triq Sant’Andrija near Luxol Sports Club in St Andrews.

The car, a Peugeot 207 that was being driven by a 38-year-old Turk residing in St Paul’s Bay, was travelling in the direction of St Julian’s at the time, the police said in a statement.

The boy was given first aid on site and was t5aken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment, to no avail as the boy lost his life.

Police investigations are ongoing and Duty Magistrate Doreen Clarke ordered an inquiry and appointed various experts to assist.
