Queen George Gin and King Sophia Vodka are the brain child of Dominic & Prince, an exclusive new brand within The Wine Boutique Franks. Having bespoke own-labelled drinks distilled to his specifications has always been an aspiration for General Manager Andrew Abela. The venture started off at a lunch meeting with Mr Kelly Mc Sherry and Mr Jim Dun at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa. In conversation it became clear that the Maltese market that did not cater specifically for the LGBTIQ community and that this was an untapped niche sector that would provide the perfect platform upon which Andrew's dream could become a reality.
"Searching for the right producer was not easy as it was crucial to find someone who was able to personally distil the vodka and gin to our high standards and discerning taste, whilst providing us with the limited quantity that we required." Andrew stated. After all both Franks and The Wine Boutique are synonymous with high quality items that are exclusive in nature. "In fact we only produced 100 bottles of each. In addition, each bottle is numbered, individually signed and hand sealed in wax by us to ensure the utmost quality... After all we believe in that if you are proud of your product you should put your name on it!" he concluded.
Distilled in England by one of the leading producers, Queen George Gin is a fresh, full flavoured citrusy gin that is delicate on the palate, whilst King Sophia Vodka is smooth and pure with a crisp taste. The elegant and discriminating labels, as well as the artistic visuals related to these products are the creation of Steves&Co., a creative agency that is at the helm of brand creation in Malta and was therefore the obvious choice for this unique project.
Giving back to the community and being socially responsible is an integral part of the Franks ethos and by extension also that of Dominic & Prince. Having already sponsored the launch of Gender Liberation earlier this year, Dominic & Prince took the initiative of creating a gin and vodka, not only tailored-made for this community, but also to donate 50% of all the profits ARC - a recently established NGO which is working for the betterment of this community.
