KLM and Air Malta have signed a code-share agreement whereby KLM will place its code and flight numbers on flights operated by Air Malta between Malta and Amsterdam.

Starting with immediate effect this agreement will enable KLM to offer their customers daily services between the Dutch capital and Malta. Air Malta’s flights to/from Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport will connect with KLM’s extensive global network.

The flights will be operated by the Maltese airline with Airbus A319/A320 aircraft.

With this code-share agreement, the two airlines’ customers will benefit from new services, such as through check-in for passengers with connections.

Commenting on this agreement Ursula Silling, Air Malta’s Chief Commercial Officer said: “This code-share agreement comes at a particular significant time for us when we are celebrating our 40 years of operations to Amsterdam Schiphol. We are very excited with this new code-share agreement and we have been working thoroughly to set up this code-share which will bring benefits to our customers. Through this code-share our customers are now in a position to benefit from access to many European and inter-continental destinations operated by KLM. This agreement supplements our current code-share with Air France that also offers international connectivity through Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Orly hubs. Both Air Malta and KLM share the commitment towards their customers, such as superior service and enhanced levels of customer satisfaction.”

Customers from Malta can benefit from direct access to Amsterdam as a final touristic destination, as well as the worldwide KLM network offering 139 destinations all over the globe. This new code-share also enables KLM customers to visit the beautiful Island of Malta and its attractions.”
