A man from Somalia was injured this evening after he was hit by a car while crossing National Road, Blata l-Bajda.

The incident happened some time before 7pm.

The police said the man, a 24-year-old Somali, had just descended from a bus and was crossing the road when he was hit by a Suzuki Alto driven by a 33 year old woman from Santa Venera.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.
