The Education Ministry and the Foundation for Tomorrow's Schools will be spending over €18 million in projects related to school grounds for this year, Education Minister Evarist Bartolo said in comments to the press earlier today.

The works are varied and are located in different parts of the islands. Schools in Pembroke, Rabat, Cospicua, Naxxar, Birkirkara and Rabat (Gozo) are the biggest projects for this year, each surpassing the €1M mark in investment.

While visiting the €900,000 San Ġwann Kindergarten project, Minister Bartolo said that better school environments lead to more motivated staff and safer surroundings for children.

He said that in Cospicua and Birkirkara, the second phase of the projects have been completed while work at the new Pembroke Sports School, as well as the new block in Naxxar's Secondary School, is moving at a good pace.
