Friday, 21 August 2015, 13:50 Last update: about 10 years ago

The opposition has asked the Auditor General to extend its investigation about the bank guarantee for the power station, which has now increased to €360 million.

Chairperson for the Public Accounts Committee Tonio Fenech and shadow ministers Claudio Grech and Marthese Portelli asked the AG to note that the period has been extended and that the amount has extended from €88 million to €360 million.  The Opposition said that this continues to make the situation worse than it already is.

The bank guarantee has been extended to 29 months, even though the power station should be built in the next 18 months.

The Auditor General has already began the investigation.
