MCAST and the Malta Air Traffic Services Limited collaborate further

MCAST and the Malta Air Traffic Services Limited this week signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will see both parties collaborate to contribute to the improvement in technical qualifications in Malta in general, and within MCAST and MATS in particular.

This agreement will help bridge the gap between the educational and industrial sectors and lead to a smoother transition for graduates into the industry. MCAST and Malta Air Traffic Services Limited shall collaborate in the purchase of equipment related to electronic systems to be installed at MCAST with the aim of improving the quality of the equipment at College so that students can study with modern and cutting-edge technologies. MCAST will donate vintage electronic equipment to be used at exhibits related to the history of communications engineering in Malta. The Malta Air Traffic Services Limited will assist MCAST in the purchase of cutting edge equipment through donations so that students will be able to study on the latest technologies.

The Institute of Engineering and Transport - Electrical and Electronics currently offers an Advanced Diploma in Electronics (Communications) and a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Communications.

The official signing of the MoU was signed by Dr Silvio De Bono, President MCAST Board of Governors and Mr Carmel Vassallo, CEO Malta Air Traffic Services Limited on Thursday 20 August at MCAST.
