Ongoing work to reduce the price of medicines - Minister Helena Dalli

Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil liberties Helena Dalli said that the price of medicines have gone down due to the ongoing dialogue with all relevant parties.

Addressing parliament during a debate on the draft bill that amends the act on consumer affairs, she said that the reduction of the price of medicine is an ongoing exercise. She continued by saying that open dialogue plays a pivotal role in managing to periodically reduce the prices of various medicines. She said that this exercise is yielding positive results.

Minister Dalli also said that the ministry is doing everything in its power to reduce the costs of medicines and is also embarking on an educational campaign to inform people about the medicines they are consuming.

She concluded by saying the ministry will continue to address the price of medicines that have not seen a reduction in price.
