A 41-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Aruba who were arrested by members of the Drug Squad upon arrival at MIA on Saturday night, have been denied bail.

The police had been tipped off that the couple were possibly carrying drug capsules. Upon investigation, the police found that they were carrying around 800g of cocaine. They were carrying Dutch passports.

The foreigners were arraigned this morning before Masgistrate Antonio Vella. They pleaded not guilty to the charges of association to import cocaine and aggravated possession of the drug and were remanded in custody.
