Thursday, 28 January 2016, 14:32 Last update: about 9 years ago

The University of Malta Academic Staff Association said it is not privy to the agreement signed between University of Malta and the Department of Health, nor is it aware of whether and how the terms of the contract with Vitals Global Healthcare affect UMASA members.

In a statement today, UMASA said it has however been reassured that the University of Malta has not entered into an agreement that affects the conditions of University of Malta academic staff in terms of their duties and responsibilities to UoM.

Should it transpire that the agreement does in any way affect the working conditions of academic staff, thus impinging on the current Collective Agreement, UMASA will take whatever action is necessary to safeguard its members’ rights.
