A migrant was arrested by Italian police today after he disembarked in Pozzallo after leaving from Malta on a catamaran with false documents, Italian media report

The man, named as Baffo Evans, 31, from Ghana, was arrested by the police as he tried to make his way into Italy with false documents.

The Italian media report that the man appeared nervous at passport control and this led to suspicions. He had an Italian ID card and a residency permit that were false, the media report.

It also resulted that the man, apart from being in possession of false documents, had been prohibited from entering Italy after a decree issued by the Foggia prefecture.
