Monday, 9 May 2016, 16:06 Last update: about 9 years ago

Schola Cantorum Jubilate, this time round is embarking on a new project which once again shows the initiative and creativity the group holds.

An exclusive spring concert is in the pipeline. The repertoire being prepared includes compositions by De Prez, Elgar, Chappell, Silvey, Rutter and Diemer, among others. Some pieces will be sung a cappella and others will be accompanied by pianist Amy Rapa. The musical director and soprano Marouska Attard will also interpret pieces by internationally renowned Maltese composer Charles Camilleri. The promising young tenor Stanley Joe Portelli will interpret another solo while Anne Marie Camilleri will have her solo moment with piano improvisation. All secular pieces that will be performed concern spring and the emerging nature.

In fact, this Blooming... afternoon tea with SCJ is being held on Sunday, 22 May at 4pm at Ta' Frenc Restaurant courtyard. The date chosen is a few days before World Environment Day and this should remind all mankind of the nature's generosity and at the same time, create a conscience towards the respect and care of "our common home".

Following the concert, a tea party will be held. Undoubtedly, a cup of tea and some delicious savories and sweets will go well on such a Sunday afternoon.

All those interested are to buy tickets from D'Amato Records Shop in Valletta and Bargate Bookshop in Victoria. Moreover, patrons are asked to dress smart casual and in pastel colours or in floral designs in order to create a colourful musical atmosphere filled with positivity, freshness and beauty!
