Health Minister Chris Fearne has tweeted that for 21 out of 26 weeks during the first six months of 2016, there have been zero out of stock medicines.

Out of stock medicines was an issue that used to plague the Health ministry, however government has taken steps to reduce the problem.

During a previous Parliamentary debate, the Minister had  said that when the government was elected to office, it found some 130 medicines out of stock in the Pharmacy of Your Choice Scheme as well as 200 out of stock medicines and various equipment that was unavailable at Mater Dei Hospital.

The Minister has also previously said that out of stock medicines are no longer an issue, and emergency department delays have gone from people waiting up to a day to people being seen in as little as two hours.
