Malta and Denmark share common positions in spite of their different geographical positions, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said.

He was speaking after a meeting with Danish PM Lars Lokke Rasmussen as part of a European tour before Malta takes over the presidency of the European Union.

Mr Rasmussen said he looked forward to better cooperation with Malta in the next six months.

Dr Muscat later flew to Budapest where he will be meeting Hungarian PM Viktor Orban.
