The Malta Police Association (MPA) have said that a woman banged her head against a bench in the Valletta police station while under arrest yesterday, so that she would claim that she was beaten.

The MPA said that a camera within the station recorded the incident.

The Union argued that police face these kind of accusations daily, and such claims cast doubts on the credibility and the integrity of the police force.

"The MPA has long called for more security in police stations". They urged the Home Affairs Ministry to continue installing CCTV systems in all stations.
