PN says PM should order Keith Schembri to accept PANA committee request

The Nationalist Party today said that the Prime Minister should order his chief of staff Keith Schembri to go before the European Parliament’s PANA committee investigating the Panama Papers scandal.

In a statement following the news that No Portfolio Minister Konrad Mizzi will be appearing before the committee on Monday, the PN said Joseph Muscat should also order Nexia BT’s Brian Tonna and Karl Cini to also reply to the questions made by the committee.

Brian Tonna and Karl Cini both know who Egrant belongs to, the PN said, in reference to companies opened in the secretive jurisdiction of Panama, uncovered by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

Konrad Mizzi should reply to the questions from the committee, not beat around the bush as he did in Brussels when he was grilled by the EP.

The people are expecting the Muscat clique to give an account of their behaviour, the PN said.
