The General Workers Union has registered an industrial dispute with the government after workers employed in the department concerned with European funds were not given an indefinite contract.
A GWU statement said that while other workers had their definite contracts converted into indefinite contracts, these particular workers were not given the same treatment.
The GWU is arguing that these workers have indefinite work to carry out, and therefore they should be given an indefinite employment.
The GWU said it is considering taking industrial action to protect the interests of these workers.
