PN MP Robert Cutajar has been appointed Opposition Whip.
He was appointed by PN Leader Adrian Delia, the Nationalist Party said in a statement. Delia communicated his decision during a PN Parliamentary Group meeting held earlier this evening.
When contacted yesterday, Cutajar would neither confirm nor deny reports that he would become Whip, replacing David Agius.
Agius was elected as Deputy Leader for Parliamentary Affairs last week.
Cutajar was elected to Parliament for the first time in 2013. The PN wished him well in his new role.
