Civil Society Network said it supported the Caruana Galizia family in their demand for the removal of deputy Commissioner Silvio Valletta from the investigation of the Daphne Caruana Galizia's murder.

"Given that deputy Commissioner Valletta is the husband of a Minister, this impinges upon the objectivity and impartiality necessary in such circumstances,” the Civil Society Network said in a statement.

"Malta is already highly politicised. The least that the country needs is lack of trust in those who are supposed to defend rule of law. Valletta should have the courage and decency to withdraw from the case," CSN said.
