Saturday, 24 February 2018, 08:53 Last update: about 7 years ago

On Thursday evening, the Planning Authority continued to remove illegal free-standing and wall mounted billboards in line with the Legal Notice 36 of 2018 which came into effect on 2 February.

These revised regulations facilitate the control of illegal billboards by the Planning Authority and other competent authorities, the PA said in a statement.

The Planning Authority Direct Action team in co-ordination with the Police Force and the private sector removed illegalities from various sites situated on private property and public spaces.

A total of 12 billboards and commercial signage were removed from the localities of Qormi, Msida, Kappara, Swieqi and Pembroke.

This direct action follows the removal of six billboards last week, and is part of a planned clean up exercise.
