VOOMQUEST, the racing and lifestyle platform operating from Malta has announced the Racing Programme for its next V2 International Powerboat Championship races taking place between June 8th and 10th 2018. The VOOMQUEST Paddock will be located in the stunning Bormla Dock 1 with the Racing Circuit located off the Sliema Coast.
Spread over 3 days, the event will include a combination of Official Testing, Pole Position Trials and 3 full Grand Prix races over a course of 3.1 Nautical Miles. To spice things up for fans and Pilots the VQ race course design also includes the introduction of a Penalty Lane.
The races will be held under the auspices of the UIM, the world governing body for Powerboat Racing, and will run as close as 200m from the shore for close-action viewing by motorsport fans and tourists.
The V2 Class is a one-design class of SVR-27 Canopy Race Boats built locally by Chaudron Powerboats and designed by VOOMQUEST co-Founder and 5-times World Champion, Aaron Ciantar.
PADDOCK PASSES & THE VQ INSIDER RACING CLUB
The Racing Programme will be supported with a series of Lifestyle events offering spectators the opportunity to get up-close to the action. The VQ Insider Racing club located on the Sliema Seafront is the place to be to watch the racing while enjoying live commentary of the racing, lunch, use of sun loungers and splash pool and a two-hour-long open bar.
For those wanting to experience Lifestyle. On the Edge more fully a limited number of VIP Paddock Passes are up for grabs through voomquest.com and are recommended for those seeking a unique motorsports experience or for company executives seeking to reward their teams. VIP Paddock Passes include gourmet hospitality in the VOOMQUEST Paddock located in Bormla Dock 1, exclusive viewing of the races from a motor boat located inside the race course.

The V2 Teams Pilots each bring their own character, style and courage to the arena of powerboat racing, and their disparate Internationalities include from Malta, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Corsica and Monaco. The competitiveness of the one-design V2 Class means that VOOMQUEST is already getting attention from Teams, competitors and fans from around the world such as from the USA, Scandinavia, Germany, Spain, Ireland and South Africa. ROUND THE ISLAND
The racing weekend will also include a World Speed Record Attempt around Malta island by world champions Aaron Ciantar and Dominique Martini on Friday 8 June. The current Record is held by Adriana Panatta and Claudio Castellani. The new world speed record for round the Malta island was set in 2004 at 42 minutes 50.82 seconds. It was organized then by VOOMQUEST co-Founder, Martin McDonald and ratified by the UIM.
NOTICE TO MARINERS
The Organisers encourage all boat owners out on the water during those days to take good note of the Harbour Master's Notice to Mariners 039 which indicates the safety zones set around the racing circuit.
