The first real hot summer weekend is round the corner – to the delight of the hot weather enthusiasts and to the chagrin of those who prefer the cooler months.

Today’s temperature high will reach 30 degrees Celsius, according to the Meteorological Office. But there will be a three degree jump to 33 degrees on Thursday, and a further increase of two more degrees for Friday and Saturday, when the forecast is 35 degrees.

The maximum temperature for Sunday will go slightly down to 34 degrees, and the one degree drop will also be experienced on Monday (33) and Tuesday (32).

Drinking lots of water, wearing light clothes and staying in the shade is the best way to counter the rising temperatures.
