Man accused of Gharghur double murder does not request bail

Kevin Micallef will be held under arrest, after his lawyers did not request bail in today's compilation of evidence.

Kevin Micallef , 42, of Gharghur was charged with two counts of murder, allegedly stabbing and killing his mother, Antonia and aunt, Maria.

Inspector Mario Sciberras testified and said that, when he arrived on site, he found the accused circled by the police, and that he had blood stains.

He said that a police Sergeant conducted a search in the accused's home, along with other officers, in the accused's presence. He said that a number of mobile phones and medicine was found. A search on two vehicles also occurred

Another officer, Antoine Agius, said that when he arrived on scene the accused opened the door for them, and was immediately arrested. He said that his colleague entered the residence and began calling for an ambulance when he saw two bodies with wounds.

The case is set to continue in September.
