Graffiti was sprayed on a marker stone on the roundabout at the intersection between Dingli Street, High Street and St Mary Street in Sliema.
The letters, in light blue spray, could be linked to foreign gangs.
Marker stones were erected in several areas around Malta at the time of British rule to show the distance in miles to Valletta. They were defaced by the British during World War II so if Germans landed they wouldn’t be able to get their bearings and location in relation to the capital.
Many of them were restored after the war.
