An application has been filed for the construction of a supermarket on ODZ land in Burmarrad, St Paul's Bay.

The site is on Triq Burmarrad corner with Triq is-Sardin. The application was filed by Bonnici Brothers.

The application is for the construction of a supermarket and underground car park. According to the public application form, the total site area is of 6,870 sqm, and the main use of the site is agricultural.

The plans show that the ground floor and 1st floor will be used for the supermarket, and include storage, while the underground floor will be used as a car park.

According to the plans, the ground floor internal area will be circa 1,419 sqm.

The proposed first floor will have a 980 sqm gross floor area, and the basement will have a 2,188sqm gross floor area. The plans show that the basement will have around 56 car parking spaces. A few car parking spaces also seem to be planned for outside. The application was filed on 17 May.

A quick look on Google maps reveals that part of the site was, at least until recently, used as a farm
