Opposition Leader’s wife continues copyright battle against PN media’s chief, expects apology

The Opposition Leader’s wife has continued her social media battle against the chief of the Nationalist Party media, claiming that copyright laws have been breached in PN media’s production “Fattigi”.

‘Fattigi’ is produced by Portelli’s company, Watermelon Media, and airs on Net Television – the PN’s TV station. Portelli argued that there was no conflict of interest, explaining that he was no longer involved in Watermelon and that his wife, who runs the company, would not be remunerated for the TV show. Portelli told Vella de Fremeaux that she has “no idea of the details of this sad episode in my life.”

Writing on Facebook Nickie Vella de Fremaux, wife of PN and Opposition Leader Adrian Delia, said she is expecting Pierre Portelli to apologise and saying how the rightful copyright owner, Sandro Vella, is to be compensated.

Last week, Vella de Fremeaux had launched a tirade against Pierre Portelli, the PN’s media chief and a close friend of the PN Leader. Vella de Fremeaux accused Portelli of ‘stealing’ a TV drama series written by Sandro Vella, who she says feels humiliated by the action.

In a fresh lengthy post a few hours ago, Vella de Fremeaux writes: “The deafening silence and the unwillingness of Pierre Portelli to prove to myself over the past 4 MONTHS that which he alleges to be the legal title to the story “Fattigi”’ leave me very weary and therefore until any evidence is shown to me to the contrary - I remain without any shadow of a doubt that copyright vests with Sandro Vella and therefore I would expect at the very least,”

Describing it as a “brazen criminal case”, she goes on to demand an apology from Portelli.
