The L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign 2018 was officially launched yesterday by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and Bank of Valletta CEO Mario Mallia in the presence of all Heads of Schools in Malta and Gozo.

Hundreds of piggy banks have already been distributed in all primary and secondary schools in Malta and Gozofor the 15th edition of what has become a permanent fixture in the build up to L-Istrina.

"Let us continue to support the value of solidarity among our children, As a result of this, the younger generation is reared in as resilient children," reiterated President Coleiro Preca.

"I am convinced that as in previous years the Maltese community will rise to the occasion that distinguishes us thanks to the values imparted to us by our forefathers."

 "The L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign is the perfect example of bringing together the many to help the few," said BOV CEO Mario Mallia.

"A small donation each by thousands of school-children, along with a healthy contribution by Bank of Valletta assists the Malta Community Chest Fund donation in fulfilling its mission and contributing towards improving the very fabric of our community."

As has become customary, Mr Edgar Preca is once again visiting a number of schools in Malta and Gozo to promote solidarity, and the added value provided to the Maltese community by the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.
