Swieqi Yobetit Phoenix crowned the new handball champions

Swieiqi Yobetit Phoenix have been officially crowned as new Maltese Handball Champions following an unbeaten streak which have seen them claiming the title with 4 games to spare. It was the first time that team from Swieqi Phoenix have claimted this coveted title. This year they have been a powerhouse winning all their 18 league games and scoring almost 500 goals.

Club President, Mr. Orlando Bonnici, said that a lot of work has been done in the past few years to develop young players as well as attracting top local and foreign players to the team. The team is already being moulded to cater for the challenges of next year's league as well as the Club's participation for the very first time in the European Handball Federation's Challenge Cup competition in October 2019.

'I would like to thank the players, the committee and everyone who has supported our team in the past few years. This could not have been done without the support of the people working in the background, our committee,sponsors and the Swieqi Local Council who always supported our teams.' concluded Mr. Bonnici.
