Arnold Cassola asks Corruption Commission Chair to investigate Yorgen Fenech’s gifts to Muscat

Arnold Cassola has written to the Chair of the Corruption Commission, Judge Lawrence Quintano, asking him to investigate two gifts given by Yorgen fenech - a man charged in connection to the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia - to Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

The first donation, Cassola said, was a €20,000 watch in 2014. The second was three wine bottles worth €5,800 in February 2019, "two years after Fenech had allegedly commissioned the assassination of the journalist and eight months after the Prime Minister knew that Fenech was a suspect."

"Due to the gravity of these revelations, which do not just include bribery but also assassination and threats to democracy, I ask you to examine the case as expediently as possible," Cassola said.
