Nationalist Party to hold protest against ‘Castille racket’ on Monday

The Nationalist Party will be holding a protest against the “Castille racket” on Monday.

The protest will be held at 6.30pm near the Parliament building.

In a statement, the party said that the government of Robert Abela is defending the "racket that was born in Castille" to give social benefits to people who were not entitled to them.

It was only the Labour Party who benefited from this, so much so that the government has refused a request by the Opposition to have Parliament summoned with urgency to debate the issue.

Following the refusal, the PN is calling upon the public to protest outside Parliament at 6.30 pm to express their disapproval against the government's actions and attitude.

The PN requested Parliament to convene after story published by the Times of Malta on Sunday revealed that beneficiaries of the fraudulent scheme were lured into the racket in return for their votes and a kickback amounting to a year’s worth of benefits. The government is denying the allegation.
