These projects encouraged the private car use and now we are reaping the results of this short sighted strategy. These millions should have been invested in alternative means of transport coupled with measures to reduce the private car dependency. Unless there is a genuine political will address this issue, we will continue breathing polluted air whose main sources are transport and the construction industry.
