A Long walk in aid of Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija

Malta Independent Tuesday, 13 April 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Mr Vella will be starting from Cirkewwa at around 6am and will walk all the way to Marsascala (Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija), passing through Mizieb, Zebbiegh, Mosta, Siggiewi, Mqabba, Gudja, Ghaxaq and Zabbar. It is estimated that the walk will take about seven to eight hours.

Mr Vella said that walking was one of his passions in life, but walking for a good cause makes it especially worthwhile. He encourages the Maltese people to support him by donating money for the multi-sensory rooms.

The MSR project at Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija will be one of the best in Europe. The building, the first phase of which has now been completed, will contain rooms which either stimulate the senses or relax the people involved with the use of highly sophisticated equipment. These rooms are expected to be operational some time this year.

Those willing to support Mr Vella by making a donation can either call at the Crest Wine Cellar in Bugibba to leave their donation with Mr and Mrs Vella, the proprietors, or send a cheque payable to Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija to RTH Walk, Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija, Zinzell Street, Marsascala.

People can also donate by sending a message of support to Mr Vella on SMS numbers: 5061- 7513 (Lm1), 5061-8021 (Lm2) and 5061-8844 (Lm3).
