During his address at the launch of the EU Youth Celebration Concert that will be organised by the Sliema Philharmonic Society on 2 May, Dr Zammit Dimech said that Malta must make the most of EU funding by promoting its diverse culture. He explained that tourism and culture compliment each other, and having them placed in the same ministry will help both sectors expand.
The Sliema Youth Band/Orchestra will be accompanying many popular Maltese singers such as Julie and Ludwig, Fabrizio Faniello, Georgina and Olivia Lewis as well as the St Julian’s children’s choir.
Minister Zammit Dimech noted that it is important for Maltese young people to take an active part in EU accession celebrations, since EU membership will open the door of opportunity for the younger generation.
He reminded the public that a concert at St John’s co-cathedral in Valletta will launch the EU accession celebrations this evening.
